Little Joe's is a pre-school class to give children, who have had their enrolment confirmed, an introduction to life at St Joseph's School. The class sessions take place on a Thursday afternoon from 1.30 - 3.00pm.
Children generally have about 8-10 sessions prior to starting St Joseph's as five year olds. Mrs Liz Kelly, our school's Assistant Principal, leads the Little Joe's sessions introducing the children to class prayers, Jolly Phonics activities, shared reading, letter and numeral formation and practical skills involving the use of scissors, correct pencil grip etc.
We do ask that a parent accompanies his/her child to the sessions. During Little Joe's there is an opportunity for parents to get to know one another over a cup of tea or coffee.
